More Firsts

Well, it's been quite a week-end. Friday evening and Saturday morning we had the very first meeting of the brand new East Coast Baptist Association. Pastors, leaders, and members of our sister churches across the maritimes were here at Community for the meetings. We had a total of 87 people registered! It was amazing...very encouraging time of getting together with other churches and knowing that you're not alone. And hearing stories of what God is doing in our region is so uplifting!

Then yesterday immediately after church we decided at the last minute to travel to Halifax for the dedication service of the new building of one of our sister churches there, Gospel Light Baptist Church. The service started at 4pm so needless to say, we were a little late, but it was wonderful to be there and celebrate with them. Friends of ours from seminary, Chad and Kellee, are serving there as associate pastor. It was a lovely service, and the building is absolutely beautiful! By the end of the service Clara had had it with sitting in her car seat and we didn't want to drive after dark so we ended up staying the night in a little motel in Bedford.

Today we took the ferry home...Clara's first ride on the ferry. First time John and I had been on the boat in a long time too. It was fun.

Here are a couple of pictures from one of the few times we made it to the beach this summer. It was a cool, cloudy day, but Yawsha enjoyed the run off leash.

Mommy with her furry girl. Poor Yawsha...she's not getting much attention these days (either at home or on the blog). We still adore her though!

Here's Clara meeting her cousins (2nd cousins actually), the Craigs from St. Albert, Alberta. You'll never meet 4 more entertaining kids. Love you guys! It was so great to see you while you were on the Island.Clara's new favourite pasttime...flying with Daddy.
