Summer Vacation

Well, we're back from our month long vacation in the west. We flew out to Edmonton the end of June for our denomination's national convention. From there we drove to Saskatchewan and visited friends and family in the Saskatoon area and in Moose Jaw. Then we drove to Calgary where we spent a few days visiting more friends, the seminary where John went to school and I worked part-time. We also enjoyed driving around and seeing how things have changed and how they haven't since we lived there. John's parents met up with us in Calgary and we travelled out to BC for a family reunion week-end. We spent the last week of our vacation on the Pacific coast visiting more of John's family. It was a fantastic time all around. The girls had so much fun with their cousins. Every day was a new adventure for them. We found out that Clara not only loves the water but also loves boating! John's cousin Burton brought his boat to the family reunion and Clara just couldn't get enough of it. She even wanted a ride in the tube after seeing Uncle Glenn wipe out. The girls did so well considering the sleeping arrangements changed every few days. Even after almost a month away from home Clara still wasn't ready to come home. She's going to like to travel like Mommy and Daddy I think. Well, here's some pictures from our trip. I may not be able to post them all at once so they might come in stages over the next few days. For those of you reading this that were so gracious to us during our time away, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! From beds and rooms to sleep in to a borrowed car to home-cooked meals and everything else...God really provided for us while we were away on a trip we really couldn't afford. So thank you for allowing God to bless us through you. Please come visit us anytime!

Clara and cousin Kaylee had fun together instantly. In this picture you can still see Clara's scrape on her face that happened right before our vacation. She had both knees bandaged and huge scabs on her face. She took a tumble outside on the pavement. It was amazing how fast she healed though.

One hotel we stayed at in Edmonton during convention had a waterslide. The water was so cold in the pool though that Clara only went down once. Our swim was short-lived that day.

While we stayed with our good friends the Langelaar's we spent an afternoon at the Saskatoon zoo. Here's Clara and Owen. Clara kept asking to see the monkeys...she seemed obsessed with primates that day. It was also REALLY hot that day walking around. Thankfully the guys pushed the strollers most of the time. Here's the dads with the baby girls...

We met Clint and Karen while we lived in Calgary. At that point they were hoping to start a family just like we were. I can hardly believe we each have 2 children now. We always have a great time visiting with them! Miss you guys!

Love the pictures! The one of you guys at the riverfront is very nice. Miss you - have been thinking about you getting back, unpacking, and jumping back into busy life again. Hopefully you can take your time to accelerate up to full speed. Hugs!
