A Mount Stewart Morning

Well, today was John's turn to sleep in and my turn to get up with Clara. Of course she was awake at six o'clock and finally forced me to drag myself out of bed by quarter to seven. She's so good to entertain herself for awhile after waking up. Anyway, as I sleepily prepared her cereal and sat with her while she ate it I didn't even notice the sun was coming up until Clara started pointing out the dining room doors saying, "uh, uh, uh." That's when I saw this beautiful sky. We had to go out on the deck and get a snapshot.

We had a wonderful visit from Grandma and Grandpa Evans a couple of weeks ago. The weather was somewhat cool and rainy, but we did manage to squeeze some leaf sightseeing in on the sunny days that we did have. Clara enjoyed having an audience for the week...what a character she is. She loved all the extra attention. We're looking forward to another visit from Grandma Evans sometime in February when baby #2 arrives.












































































We found this spot last Monday after a friend phoned and told us to check it out. It's only about 5 minutes from our house. It was such a beautiful day for a drive (and a walk). We actually broke records that day for temperature. I think it got up to about 21 degrees Celsius.



































I just love driving the back dirt roads this time of year. There's something about that remote, isolated feeling of being way out in the woods...even though you're probably never more than a mile from someone's farm or home. It just feels remote. And it's so nice and quiet. After stopping to take some pictures at this location we continued on past Montague to King's Castle Provincial Park. Clara had never been there before, and she had a great time walking through the woods, seeing all the fairy tale characters and riding in Cinderella's pumpkin with Daddy.
